چکیده

conclusions we concluded that propofol can reduce sbp, dbp, map, hr & cough production at the time of injection but there were no significant changes in these parameters after extubation. results heart rate and blood pressure in patients receiving propofol were less than the control group (p < 0.05) at the time of injection of propofol, but there were no differences between the two groups at the time of extubation. materials and methods 80 patients with asa physical status i, undergoing an elective surgery in a double blind manner received 0.5mg/kg propofol or normal saline 2 minutes before extubation. heart rate and blood pressure and quality of tracheal extubation were recorded. objectives the aim of this study is to investigate the attenuation of cardiovascular responses and upper airway events resulting from tracheal extubation by low dose propofol. background hemodynamic changes and respiratory tract complications are often followed by tracheal extubation. these events may be dangerous in neurosurgical patients and those with cardiovascular disease or at an old age.

Effects of remifentanil and alfentanil on cardiovascular responses to tracheal intubation

Introduction: Laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation necessitate to start a surgery and induction of general anesthesia as well as the maintenance of the air way and to provide ventilation. However, Laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation may lead to hemodynamic response that appear with the symptoms of hypertension tachycardia, arrhythmia and myocardial ischemia and results in myocardial infarction...

Attenuation of cardiovascular responses to laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation--intravenous sufentanil vs pethidine.

BACKGROUND The study was undertaken to compare the effects of small doses of sufentanil or pethidine on cardiovascular responses induced by tracheal intubation. METHODS Sixty ASA physical status I-II patients, scheduled for elective abdominal surgery under general anesthesia, were randomly allocated in a double blind fashion to receive an intravenous bolus of either sufentanil 0.1 microg/kg (...

Difficult Airway Society Guidelines for the management of tracheal extubation.

Tracheal extubation is a high-risk phase of anaesthesia. The majority of problems that occur during extubation and emergence are of a minor nature, but a small and significant number may result in injury or death. The need for a strategy incorporating extubation is mentioned in several international airway management guidelines, but the subject is not discussed in detail, and the emphasis has b...

Tracheal extubation.

Tracheal extubation in both the critical care and anesthesia setting is not only an important milestone for patient recovery, but also a procedure that carries a considerable risk of complication or failure. Mechanical ventilation is associated with significant complications that are time-dependent in nature, with a longer duration of intubation resulting in a higher incidence of complications,...
